 KJV Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.
 NIV Do not forsake your friend and the friend of your father, and do not go to your brother's house when disaster strikes you--better a neighbor nearby than a brother far away.
 공동번역 네 친구나 아비의 친구를 저버리지 말아라. 어려울 때 동기의 집을 찾아 가지 말아라. 이웃 사촌이 먼 동기보다 낫다.
